We have specialized training in financial matters and trial advocacy so that we can effectively represent you when negotiations fail.
Oklahoma City, Bentonville, and Joplin Attorneys for Other Service Areas
In addition to family law, our firm can provide advice, guidance, and representation in the following areas:
Criminal Defense for family law and white-collar crimes
In addition to available civil enforcement mechanisms, the law says that some commonly-occurring family law misconduct is criminal. A person who has custody of a child and is accused of failure to provide the child with basic necessities can be charged with a crime. A person who is ordered to pay child support and does not pay may be charged with a crime. A person who violates an court order for child custody, intending to keep the child from the custodial parent, may face criminal charges. To obtain a protective order, a petitioner must allege rape, domestic violence, stalking or harassment. These are all crimes. This means that if a protective order petition has been filed against you, the person filing the petitioner is accusing you of criminal activity.
Interstate Discovery
The Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act (UIDDA) can be a useful tool for lawyers who frequently need to conduct discovery in other states. This Uniform Act has been adopted by Oklahoma and Arkansas. The UIDDA has simplified the process of obtaining subpoenas in many states. Due to our knowledge and experience with this new law, our lawyers frequently assist lawyers from other states with discovery issues in the Midwest.
Referrals and Co-Counsel Partnerships
Bundy Law is an accomplished firm that focuses on complex, high-conflict family law cases, civil justice (injuries), and appeals. Our extensive training and experience—as well as our track record of success—make us uniquely equipped to assist other attorneys and law firms that don’t traditionally try cases or work in our practice areas. Our regional practice is unique, as we cover Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri.
As Aaron Bundy and Kathleen Egan are fellows of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and Aaron is also a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, we have access to a broad network of the top family law practitioners in the world. Lawyers from other states routinely ask us to assist them with discovery under the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act. We work with lawyers from other states with one-off jurisdictional disputes and matters collateral to their primary case located in another state or country. Our interstate cross-licenses are sought out by referring lawyers and their clients across the United States.
Joint representation and co-counsel services are an important part of our firm’s work and are beneficial to referring attorneys. We work hard to preserve your relationship with your client. We’re not interested in stealing your cases or poaching your clients. We’re here to help, which we do by stepping in, resolving the client’s difficult matter, and then stepping out, all while promoting you and your relationship with the client. We have a tried-and-true system for collaborative casework. This means that you—and your client—benefit from the skills of our entire legal team.
